Social Studies Reflection
Name: Ravinand Mangru
1. Which chapter in World History did you enjoy most this year and why?
My favorite chapter was chapter 5 in which we studied Ancient India and Persia. We studied about the Indus River Valley and talked about Mohenjo-Daro. I liked this the most because we talked about my religion, Hinduism. This chapter showed a lot of things to my classmates about how my religion is without having to explain a lot of it. It also showed things that if I did not have my book I would’ve probably been really hard to explain without ending up with people being confused.

2. Describe some of the things that you learned in that chapter. Is there a project that you completed that you enjoyed working on?
Some of the things that we learned about were surprising. India has 3 seasons which first starts out with it being mild and cool. Then it comes to the hot season. After that is the monsoon season or the rainy season. I also learned about the climate and religion in this chapter.

3. What new skills have you learned throughout the year?
I have learned how to gather and use information in an efficient way. I also have learned how to present this information in an orderly way. These both allow me to teach people about these things while being able to explain it and talk about it.

4. How can you apply this knowledge to the real world?
I can apply this information to the real world whenever the topic is related in any way to India or China. This allows me to relate to information and be able to understand what someone is talking about instead of being clueless and not knowing what to say or do when the topic has come up.
